I have decided to take a break from all social networking for a week or so. See you on the flip-side my peeps!

The picture of dishonesty: social media slaps down a wedding photo faker

Some days, it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

I don’t know what time Meagan Kunert, a Conway, Arkansas, wedding photographer, went to sleep Tuesday night. I can only surmise from her last online posts that day that it was a night like any other. After a long day of caring for her children, juggling and organizing her upcoming work schedule, and updating her website, Facebook page, and Flickr account with stunning photographs of recent weddings, she must have retired for the night without the slightest hunch about what was going to be waiting for her the next morning.

So, this morning I watched Isaac Deitz’s documentary “Vital Sign” about Joshua Olds of Family Force 5. I was in tears most of the video. One because it was just hard to see those boys cry. And two because it took me back to when my Mom died.

I know my followers have heard me talk about my Mom and her passing a lot. But I don’t think I ever mentioned what really went down. My Mom went in for a check up on a Tuesday and suffered a heart attack while at the hospital. The doctors found that my Mom had renal failure; which explains why she was swollen just days before and was unable to move without pain. She also was very sluggish and had trouble even speaking without slurring her words. Just a day later my Mom had a stroke and went into a coma. And on Thursday afternoon, my Mom breathed her last.

I know it may sound crazy that she wasn’t taken to the hospital right away but at the same time my Mom had other diseases she was dealing with that made it seem like she was just dealing with the same issues as before. She was diabetic and had the most severe case of gastroparesis that any of her doctors had ever seen (my Mom had 27 doctors on her case).

Anyway, it was a good reminder of why I started taking better care of myself. And now, I need to continue.

OMGosh! I have done this.

At the camp I used to work at we had three trampolines all next to each other so you could jump from one to the other. They were super high too. Anyway, one night a few counselors and I took our girls to the trampolines, we jumped, ate junk food then slept.

Good memory.

so today (well, I guess yesterday now) while shopping, a woman in front of me in the checkout line asked me if I knew anyone looking for work. I said, “Me!” I then asked her what type of work it was and she said that it was a business that helped low income families find jobs. She then asked me my name and number.

I gave her my first name only and my number. I though it was innocent enough. Problem? The number is a landline!!!! I just googled my phone number and my address popped up… no need to pay, no special programs… it was just right there available to anyone and everyone!!!

The internet scares me sometimes.

Lord, I pray she wasn’t a creeper.
